Employee Theft InvestigationsOne of the greatest losses experienced by employers is theft by employees, also known in the industry as 'Shrink', Whether your employee is stealing cash from the register, or taking products or supplies home, or stealing from your clients, you have a right and responsibility to conduct a proper investigation designed to prove or disprove any allegations. Subsequent to conducting a proper investigation, a decision can be made as to how to proceed. The results may call for an admonishment and documentation with a warning, to remedial training, and up through termination or criminal prosecution.
